The new Air-Force System replaces aerosol cans. By means of the Air-Force System refillable cans are filled automatically with AF-Weld and a propellant (compressed air). The advantage over conventional systems is its easy and fast application.
When working with highly flammable aerosol cans deflagrations may occur because the highly flammable components cannot escape in cavities. The VMBG (Vereinigung der Metall-Berufsgenossenschaften [Association of metal-working employers’ liability associations]) says that welding sprays with flammable contents or flammable propellant gas have no place in the immediate danger zone of welding works. Hazardous excess pressure may build up, and on the other hand weld splatter or grinding sparks may melt the thin container walls of the spray cans and ignite the escaping substances. When applying aerosol cans in industrial use staff have to be instructed by means of a workplace-related instruction manual (in accordance with the Gefahrstoffverordnung/Ordinance on Hazardous Substances). Moreover aerosol cans have to be disposed of after use (partly emptied spray cans even as hazardous waste) and cannot be refilled.
During the development of the separating agent AF-Weld we have not only attached importance to top performance but also to environmental compatibility. The product is non-combustible and does not contain any combustible ingredients. The present active ingredients are based on renewable raw materials. Thus fossil resources are saved, and the natural welding separating agent in combination with the Air-Force device becomes a perfect aid in industrial welding technology.
